WHAT THE AUDIENCE SEES: For this beautiful effect,
you require a plate woth about five oranges, a large
sharp knife and a table. Ask a spectator to point
to any one of the oranges. Pick up the orange and
let the spectator examine it. When the orange is returned,
hold it up and say "This orange has a strange
history. A coin was planted with the seed and when
the orange is cut in half , a quarter should be found
inside." Now show both hands empty, then lift
knife and cut the orange half way down. Hand the orange
to a spectator and ask him to look into the cut sections.
Strangely, a coin is discovered in the orange!
SECRET: The illustrations show how this trick is
done. You previously fasten the coin with a piece
of wax or paste to the knife, near the handle. The
knife is laid on the table, with the coin beaneath.
When cutting the orange, hold knife as shown in illustration
and press coin down with thumb, into the orange. That's
all there to this cute trick, but it is advisable
to practice it a few times before presenting it to
the audience. |
